Our Sweet Mommy
Say "Hello" to Dixie! This little girl is full of spunk and sass. She is pretty rambunctious and rarely will be still enough for me to take a good picture. I have precious few pictures of her face and lots from when she was sleeping. LOL She loves to play and is very protective of her family. She cuddles when she wants to, snuggling up in my chair with me & usually sleeping with us at night. She likes to play ball, but usually runs and hides it instead of bringing it back to me. Dixie is a very independent little girl! When I say little I mean *really* little. She is the smallest we have ever had; the shortest on AKC's guidelines. She is registered as "Stoudt's Dixie Mae Be Mine." She is a black & white parti with ticking. She has a fabulous thick coat that I hope she will pass on to her babies. :D It's gorgeous!
Sadly, we have found that Dixie is not living her best life here with us. If you are a family looking for a grown up dog AND you have NO other pets, you can contact me for details about Dixie.

The Man of the House
Dallas is the man of the house now. His coat is one of my favorite colors ever! He is a chocolate Merle with tan points and ticking AND BOTH of his eyes are a brilliant blue! Dallas is a stick-tight for sure. He lives and breathes for my husband. They do everything together as much as humanly possible! When my husband is gone I am a poor substitute & Dallas is by my side pretty much every minute...until Rob gets home again.
Dallas of course likes to play ball & is VERY good about it. Unlike his girlfriend, he actually brings the ball back every time. He plays with everything- even likes to hang out with the chickens in the yard...without trying to eat them. :)

In loving memory....
It has taken me months to be ready to write this update. An absolute heartbreak, our first cocker spaniel & wonderful friend Jewels has passed away. She left us peacefully in her sleep, by my side as was the norm. She never missed a beat. 14+ lovely years with us and she never had a health problem- she simply went to bed as usual on night & didn't wake the next day. I can only hope that I pass as peacefully as she did.

This is our girl Jewels, she's a wonderful mama. :) "Stoudt's Jewels Joy the Renegade" is her full name, because like lots of cockers she has a mind of her own. When she was a puppy I'm convinced she thought her name meant "turn around and run away as fast as possible" hahaha We created a fabulous game to teach her recall, so while she still likes to go her own way she's not a complete renegade anymore. lol Jewels is a very small cocker; she is a petite girl on the lower end of AKC height regs. She is buff & white, AKC & CKC registered. I have to say that while she may have independent tendencies, she is extremely smart and love love loves to play! She knows so many commands & has a great time performing for us. Things as simple as "sit" as well as "military crawl" and "ballerina." My boys' personal favorite is "bang" (play dead) but she's terrible at it because she only lays her head down and keeps wagging her tail the whole time! :P Just another quirk of our beautiful little lady.

My little man: Charlie~
The newest addition to our family is absolutely the perfect puppy for me! He is the exact coloring that I have been searching for for the past 5 years & boy am I excited!! His official AKC name is Stoudt's Sir Charles the Spotted One. :) *************************************************** Charlie was struck with a sudden case of meningitis and passed away after being ill for just 4 days. He was given intensive care and I did take him to the vet on the very first day he was sick, but he was misdiagnosed and when the vet at last came to the correct diagnosis it was too late. The correct medications were given, but they did not do their job at that point. :( I have been completely heartbroken over his loss. He was an absolute sweetheart and beyond any doubt I completely belonged to him. <3 |
I lost my boy Max 2 days before Christmas 2015. Though our dogs have ample space in the fenced yard, he was a fan of "door dashing" to get out and chase rabbits... he sprinted out one night & of course was too excited to come right back inside. Minutes later he was hit by a car as he was headed home. He was my true best friend & I am heartbroken to be without him each day. He honestly was Mr Personality! I don't think I'll ever have another like my Max.
This is my buddy Max, daddy to our cocker spaniel puppies. Maxanator is a White & Buff parti cocker with ticking. (Ticking is the lil' freckles you see.) He is an average sized AKC registered cocker and is absolutely my best bud. He is (true to the breed norm) a "velcro dog" and loves to be right with me most of the time. If I am busy washing dishes, he's laying by my feet. Watching tv, he's laying by my chair. At night, he's on the foot of the bed. Outside? Now, outside is a different story! LOL He absolutely LOVES to run & explore, so if I'm in the yard & he comes out, he leaves me in the dust! LOL Max is not really a flamboyant showman with the tricks he knows- he'll pretty much "sit pretty" for anything you ask him to do. He *does* know how to sit, lay, etc but I think that he believes he'll get a sweeter treat if he sits up. ;) Max's personality is as fun as his markings are! When visitors come he loves to greet them & get a few free snuggles in before they get too far into the house. If we're at the park he wants to play with every single person or pup he meets- he's very social! He even tries to make friends with the weather: when it storms he runs out the dog door, dancing around, tail wagging, looking at the clouds and barking at the thunder! Crazy guy!
